We are looking for Enforcement Officers to join our Trading Standard’s eCrime team. Please note, this is a career graded post. The salary grade at which an appointment is made will be based on existing knowledge and experience. The job description sets out the required level of knowledge, skills and experience at each salary grade. Who we are From counterfeit and dangerous goods to illicit tobacco and large frauds, our core aim is to protect consumers from online harm. We do this by investigating and disrupting harmful web sites and other online platforms. We also help build capacity within the trading standards profession at a local and regional level, delivering training and best practice guidance so officers are better equipped to gather evidence and investigate online crime. The role As an Enforcement Officer, you will play a vital role in our Disruptions Team in detecting, researching and disrupting online harm. For the higher pay grades, you will also assist in managing and delivering projects set out in the National Trading Standards eCrime Team service plan. You will work closely with colleagues in trading standards teams across England and Wales to ensure e-crime intelligence is properly captured and recorded. What you will bring Candidates will have an enthusiasm to protect consumers and tackle online harm. Although experience of investigations, internet technology and open-source intelligence is expected for the higher salary grades, we do offer training and career development opportunities for candidates who might be new to the role. We would particularly like to hear from candidates who have had experience in preparing and delivering training and other learning materials. You will be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written and have proven experience of analysing information from a range of sources.
