CNC Miller Programmer
Location: Sevenoaks
Employment Type: Permanent, days-based
Pay: £30-36,000 p.a
Responsibilities
* Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls (essential).
* Creating new programmes at the machine and adjusting existing ones to improve cycle time and quality.
* Reading and working from engineering drawings, models and work instructions to tight tolerances.
* Selecting tooling, workholding and machining strategies appropriate to the job.
* Proving out programmes safely and completing first-off inspection to sign-off.
* Carrying out in-process checks using micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other metrology.
* Working across small batch and repeat production, ensuring on-time delivery.
* Contributing to continuous improvement—optimising feeds/speeds, tooling life and set-up methods.
* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area in line with 5S and H&S practices.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a CNC Miller with the ability to programme Fanuc (G-code) - essential.
* Confident to set and operate milling centres and take jobs from start to finish.
* Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T; comfortable working to tight tolerances.
* Sound knowledge of cutting tools, workholding and machining best practice.
* Competent in the use of hand-held and bench inspection equipment.
* CAD/CAM knowledge (e.g. Fusion 360, Mastercam, Edgecam or similar) - ideal but not essential.
* A proactive approach, good problem-solving skills and a keen eye for quality.
* Right to work in the UK and good communication skills.
