Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Wolverhampton on a full-time basis.
The Role
A well-established specialist school is looking to appoint a passionate Learning Support Assistant to support pupils aged 4–19 years with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Working within a nurturing and inclusive environment, you will provide both one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils to access learning, develop key life skills, and achieve their individual targets.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver engaging and personalised learning experiences. You will play a key role in monitoring pupil progress, supporting emotional and social development, and helping to create a positive and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide tailored support to pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
2. Assist the class teacher in delivering creative and engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs.
3. Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
4. Help monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and achievements.
5. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
6. Adapt learning activities and resources to suit individual needs and abilities.
7. Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and carers.
8. Support pupils with personal care requirements where necessary.
9. Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
10. Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
11. Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting children with additional needs.
12. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Be able to build strong relationships and act as a positive role model.
14. Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
15. Have a genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential.

Requirements
As the suitable candidate you will:
16. Have a suitable qualification for working with children and young people such as Health and Social Care, Children and Young People's Workforce.
17. Have experience of working with children with special education needs and disabilities.
18. Be confident in your abilities and skills to deal with occasional behavioural challenges.
19. Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
