JOB PURPOSE
The Director of Cloud Business Technology Delivery will have prime responsibility in setting up and drive new business ventures for Liberty Global in the cloud edge space, demonstrating physical hosting and connectivity assets currently held by LG and its ventures, and build a cloud brokerage and associated B2B and B2C services to offer a one-stop shop for our customers! In this role, you will be responsible for driving all the major technological, partnership and organizational aspects of edge cloud technologies, including cloud brokerage, public and private cloud technologies, provisioning, orchestration, arbitrage, contract management, API-based marketplaces, continuous development and continuous maintenance, and agile methodologies.
The director will also be accountable to develop and deliver the cloud business solutions portfolio, in partnership with the Liberty Global OpCos. In order to achieve this, the owner of this role will gather inputs and influence the creation of the commercial roadmaps and product catalogue, will lead and assist in the creation and approval of the business cases, will coordinate and overarch the technical solutions development, will define the organizational design and go-to-market approach and will supervise closely the key commercial and technical performance indicators of the B2B cloud services.
Location and travel.
This role is based in UK hybrid working possible. There will be team meetings, meetings with our OpCos and customers in various locations, primarily across LG OpCos footprint (UK, NL, CH, BE, SK and IE).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Product roadmap and business plans
2. Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on cloud brokerage, public and private cloud technologies, and related areas.
3. Setup and drive the directions for the new B2B central and edge multi-cloud business that LG is setting up.
4. Work closely with the OpCos B2B teams to identify the product roadmaps and agree on organizational design, setup and go-to market approach
5. Build in partnership with OpCos, Central and Finance teams the plans of record and arguments for business cloud solutions revenue streams
6. Ensure the Cloud architecture guidelines and standard processes are followed
7. Promote the strategic workload placement policy and objectives
8. Review regularly the progress made in the execution against the plan of records and find opportunities for further improvements
9. Prioritize markets with critical B2B cloud business needs, starting with SK, CH and BE
10. Define the product strategy, the go to market approach in terms of business setup (which aspects of the business we will partner with other companies, which aspects we will buy vs build) and drive execution and growth starting with technical proof of concept and evolving into commercial pilots, to then move into commercial operations
11. Collaborate closely with the LG Cloud – Strategy, Architecture and Transformation team to define and implement the cloud adoption roadmap for existing platforms and services within LG markets. This includes working together to ensure seamless execution and integration of cloud technologies, with a specific focus on cloud automation
12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across LG markets, central functions and partners/suppliers to assess and select optimal cloud service providers and technologies.
13. Ensure efficient provisioning and orchestration of cloud services, guaranteeing seamless integration and resource optimization.
14. Contribute to the design and implementation of API-based marketplaces, enabling secure and streamlined access to cloud resources.
15. Work closely with the industry leaders and internal teams to find opportunities to generate additional revenues, reduce organizational complexity and costs, provide business benefits and foster innovation.
16. Lead the product definition and ensure the technical capabilities are aligned with the commercial models and required features
17. Ensure proper budget follow-up and tracking for the Cloud Business Solutions across Liberty Global OpCos
18. Develop strategies for cloud resource arbitrage, optimizing performance and cost-effectiveness across diverse cloud platforms.
19. Oversee contract management, ensuring compliance and maximizing value from cloud service provider agreements.
20. Lead the selection decision process for the components used for the cloud business solutions and promote the architecture and guidelines adapted to OpCos needs
21. Manage central budgets for the cloud business solutions
22. Track and follow-up the business performance and associated technical and commercial costs
23. Organize regular summits and events to allow cross-OpCos standard process sharing
24. Put in place an excellence program to recognize key business and technology achievement in the areas
25. Drive continuous development and maintenance practices, fostering an agile and responsive cloud environment.
26. Lead, support, coach and manage a team of highly skilled and motivated individual contributors
27. Help build a collaborative and transparent culture of continuous improvement, within the team and across domains, while mentoring junior team members
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential skills & abilities:
28. Extensive experience of making things work better with technology with at least 8 years of management of cloud technical products and platforms and related services like IoT, cyber security, computer vision, etc.
29. Eye for business – able to connect the technology advantages with the business benefits and opportunities
30. Experience in product development and go-to market strategies
31. Proven track record of B2B and cloud related topics team management with responsibility for product definitions, delivery and running (e.g. operational aspects)
32. Experience in cloud technologies and platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or other major cloud service providers.
33. Knowledge of cloud architecture and infrastructure components, including virtualization, networking, storage, and security.
34. Understanding of cloud cost optimization strategies and ability to analyze and optimize cloud resource usage.
35. Experience in migrating on-premises infrastructure and applications to the cloud.
36. Knowledge of edge cloud technologies and platforms, including edge computing frameworks and edge data management.
37. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and partners to drive cloud and edge cloud initiatives.
38. Good understanding of and experience in digital technology

40. Extensive experience and expertise analysing the TCO, ROI and business value of migrating on-premise workloads into public cloud
