Project Cost Controls Specialist
At AtkinsRéalis, we’re seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Entry‑Level Project Cost Controls Specialist to support project management activities by ensuring effective cost control, scheduling, and risk management. Responsibilities
* Assist in tracking project budgets and ensuring costs align with financial plans and forecasts.
* Collect and maintain data related to expenditures, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
* Build knowledge of UK financial regulations such as VAT and tax regulations.
* Prepare regular financial project reports, including cost summaries, variance reports, and forecasts.
* Maintain organized records of financial documents to support audits and project reviews.
* Help create and update cost‑control documentation (change orders, purchase orders, contracts).
Qualifications
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data visualization). Excel Skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Microsoft Office Packages
* Collaborative teamwork with senior cost controllers and project managers.
* Strong stakeholder communication skills—clearly conveying cost‑related updates.
* Cross‑functional collaboration with procurement, engineering, and operational teams.
* Analytical mindset to analyse data and support problem‑solving for cost discrepancies.
* Attention to detail in data entry, report preparation, and budget tracking.
* Adaptability—quick to adjust cost plans as needed.
* Degree (or working toward) in finance, accounting, project management, engineering, or relevant fields.
* Basic to intermediate knowledge of financial software (Excel, Oracle).

Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by the United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of UK residency for 5 years or longer.
