Role Description
The Communications Manager role is key to advancing the critical role of biogas in meeting global sustainability targets. The job incumbent develops and executes targeted communication activities for the World Biogas Association (WBA) and the UK’s Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA). The role focuses on amplifying brand awareness, engaging with the global AD and biogas community, including members, and educating policy makers, external stakeholders and the public about the role of anaerobic digestion, biogases, bioCO2 and biofertilisers to support the success of the WBA and ADBA and their members.
This full-time hybrid role of Communications Manager, based in Greater London, offers flexibility to work remotely part of the time. Key responsibilities include designing and executing communication strategies, content creation for various channels, managing media relations, coordinating campaigns, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The Communications Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to enhance the WBA and ADBA's presence and influence in the sustainability and biogas sectors.
The Communications Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Communications, Brand Management and PR, plays a critical part in steering towards strategic success and influencing the Associations’ stance on greenhouse gas emissions reduction and related environmental issues.
Engaging in impactful day-to-day activities, from website and social media management to delivering compelling content, the role delivers strategic communication campaigns to raise awareness of the anaerobic digestion and biogas industry and the work of the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and the World Biogas Association (WBA) among a broad audience. Working within a collaborative team, the mission is to amplify awareness of the benefits of anaerobic digestion/biogas and support the work of ADBA and WBA in facilitating this existentially necessary industry’s growth. The Communications Manager’s contribution is essential in driving the brands’ success within a competitive market landscape.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree - Marketing, Communications or equivalent preferred
* At least 2 years’ demonstrated proficiency in marketing, communications or PR – B2B preferred
* Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including email marketing software, social media management tools and analytics platforms.
* Knowledge of SEO tools, and the use of tools such as Google Analytics/SEMrush/Ahrefs/ Google Search, Console etc. to analyse content for keywords, backlinks and other measurable data – researching keywords to boost traffic to the WBA and ADBA’s websites.
* Targeting and channel expertise: Understand and be able to use and advise on the tools used to improve digital targeting and social media monitoring. Able to convert web analytics into insights to shape future plans.
* Content Creation and Copywriting: Strong writing skills with the ability to create engaging and persuasive content for various channels, including websites, social media, and email campaigns.
* Graphic Design Skills: Basic graphic design skills to create visually appealing and effective marketing materials using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
* Data Analysis: Competency in data analysis to interpret marketing metrics, track campaign performance, and make data-driven decisions for optimisation.
* CRM Software Proficiency: Practical experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software for marketing and engagement strategies.
