About the Role
Assist Fleet Technician II and III in providing safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicles by learning to perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs, diagnosing and repairing to prevent breakdowns, reduce vehicle downtime, and improve fleet reliability.
Responsibilities
* Learn to perform inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
* Perform FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles under supervision.
* Perform quality preventive maintenance and repairs following company methods and regulations.
* Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
* Document all work performed on work orders accurately and timely.
* Develop proficiency in Sysco computer programs.
Qualifications
Education
* Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training (preferred)
* High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
* No experience required
* Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
Skills
* Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnosis
* Welding and cutting skills (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)
* Basic computer skills
Additional
* Own tools required; diagnostic equipment provided by Sysco
* Performance reviews for apprentices
* Certifications such as ASE, Brake Inspector, HVAC (preferred)
Physical & Working Conditions
* Require standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 100 lbs, and other physical activities.
* Work in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and humid settings.
* Occasional travel and non-traditional hours may be required.
