Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
8. Take responsibility and accountability for the planning, prioritising and completion of all setting, loading and returns.
9. Take primary responsibility for setting and packing carrier packages.
10. Take responsibility for accuracy, quality and timeliness of your activity.
11. Ensure every load is correctly quality-checked, counted and set.
12. Assist customers with loading their vehicles, subject to safe working rules
13. Take ownership and control of housekeeping and stock accuracy.
14. Work with the Stores team to cover the varying levels of work in Stores.
15. Become a respected and valued member of the Yard Team through your performance and demonstrating a 'can-do' attitude.
16. Ensure all orders prepared and ready for loading in time for the agreed collection dates.
17. Ensure all morning collections advised by 16.00 the day before should be set that night.
18. Ensure all carrier packages are packed, labelled and ready for collection by the carrier(s).
19. Strive to achieve zero product damage.
20. Ensure % completion of daily tasks allocated to you, with % accuracy
21. Ensure all tasks are completed and documented before the load(s) leave site.
22. Assist or cover in other areas, depending on the resource needs of the team, to meet the overall demands.
23. Work with relevant departments to ensure materials are provided correctly and in good time and that any problems spotted are solved promptly.
24. Build a co-operative working relationship with the Retail Sales team, the rest of the loading team, Timber Production and Transport.
25. Work safely and ensure that Company and Statutory Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental requirements are met, including specific aspects such as safe F/T driving, safe stacking and lorry loading.
26. Any other ad hoc tasks reasonably requested by your direct line managers.
Experience and skills required for this position:
27. Hold a valid counterbalance forklift licence
28. You must drive due to location
29. A flexible approach to working hours will be necessary.
30. You will need to be self-driven, think for yourself and be a proven problem solver.
31. Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
