Job Description:

REPORTS TO: The role reports directly to the company owner.
The Client Financial Controller will oversee the finance operations for a portfolio of clients, lead and develop the internal finance team, and collaborate closely with clients to understand their financial needs, providing strategic insights and guidance. Responsibilities include setting internal procedures, leading the team, and supervising financial operations within the company.
Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Client Financial Operations & Reporting:
* Manage daily financial operations for clients, including invoicing, payroll, tax returns, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
* Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other monthly accounting adjustments.
* Prepare management accounts with commentary.
* Work with client department heads to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
* Advise clients and suggest process improvements.
* Attend meetings with client leadership teams, investors, and advisors, presenting financial reports and insights.
* Meet financial reporting deadlines and complete month-end processes promptly.
2. Internal Control and Processes:
* Establish and maintain financial procedures to ensure reliable financial information and internal controls.
* Ensure systems are scalable for current and future growth.
* Coordinate with outsourced partners for bookkeeping, accounts, and tax returns.
* Supervise VAT returns, payroll, and month-end close.
* Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Other Responsibilities:
* Recruit, mentor, and develop the finance team.
* Collaborate with outsourced accountants and client teams.
* Plan for succession within the company.
* Lead and manage the financial team.
* Follow company policies and procedures.
* Build relationships with clients and teams.
* Motivate and challenge team members.
