LOCATION: Nr Stroud (own transport is required) HOURS: Mon to Fri -8.45am-3.15pm START DATE: ASAP PAY: £20,983 - £23,234 (term time is 39 weeks plus 5.6 weeks paid holiday) TYPE OF CONTRACT: Temporary to Permanent/ Permanent Vacancy - Learning Coach ESS Employment Ltd are looking to recruit a Learning coach to join our client based locally near Stroud. Our client aims to ensure that children and young people facing educational barriers can belong to school communities where they can learn, grow, and thrive Key responsibilities: • Act as keyworker and point of contact for parents and carers. • Facilitate pastoral and academic sessions and bespoke interventions with students on school site, offsite venues and/ or the home address. • Lead pre-planned 1-2-1 sessions in school and various community venues Core • Uphold the vision and values of our client • Adhere to all school policies and procedures. • Be a part of the collegiate responsibility of the school. • Be a positive role model adult. • Build positive, trusted and safe relationships with students and colleagues. • Hold high aspirations and expectations for every child. • Adhere to our clients Staff non-negotiables: • Self-Regulate. • Remember it’s not about you. • Model our clients’ expectations. • Protect, Act, Engage. • Be Kind. • Be PACE-ful, show signs of safety. • Hold each other to account. • Seek support. Students • Be an advocate for the child, supporting them to identify and communicate needs • Work one-to -one and in small groups with students to engage them in education, through activities and lessons and at times in off-site venues and/or the home address • Support delivery of a bespoke curriculum • Support the purposeful journey of students in school, from admissions, through their school experience, to their transition and next steps Post 16 • Act as keyworker for allocated students, advocating for them and embedding positive relationships with other agencies involved. • Understand the importance of good attendance and support students to achieve it, following the school’s Attendance Policy. • Support compliance with the Home-School agreement • Ensure accurate recording on school management information systems • Liaise with Teachers and SENCo to support with matters relating to students’ access arrangements. Community • Liaison with parents, carers and external agencies, ensuring that all data is validated and reports to parents and other stakeholders are accurate and meaningful. • Produce and provide relevant reports to all stakeholders as necessary. • Work relationally alongside colleagues and other professionals Environment • Be part of a safe, stimulating, and consistent environment for learning • Role model the care and upkeep of on-site and off-site facilities • Role model sustainability awareness and ethical thinking • Safeguarding • Ensure children are always safe • Be aware of and comply with policies, procedures and processes relating to child protection, health & safety and security, confidentiality and data protection. • Use CPOMS accurately, effectively and consistently Health and Safety • Contribute to Risk Assessments for students, activities and venues, with responsibility for allocated students/ groups. • Vigilance and awareness of the environment and needs of students at all times • Engage with the health and safety requirements of a school environment, including reporting of all identified risks • Sign in and out of sites as required • Compliance with accident reporting and RIDDOR • Comply with tracking requirements whilst working in off-site venues Training and Development • Coordinate school CPD calendar • Complete all Statutory and company training when required • Value personal professional development • Engage positively in induction, probation, and performance management processes • Engage with CPD professionally and proactively Additional duties • Any other reasonable duties as requested that is not specified in this job description • This is not an exhaustive job description and does not intend to specify the proportion of time spent on any of the duties outlined herein. This job description will form the basis for the assessment of the performance within the context of Performance Management Criteria Qualifications and training Essential: · • GCSE or equivalent level in English and maths Desirable: · • Level 3 Teaching Assistant · Safeguarding qualification Experience Essential: • Office 365 • Working with children and young people Desirable: • Working in an environment with children with SEN • Working with vulnerable/ at risk children.
