Purpose of the role As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will be integral to our business success by supporting, coaching and mentoring a team. You will need a strong understanding of food and culinary skills and a commitment to personal growth while advancing the kitchen team at room2. The Kitchen Supervisor will assist with food preparation in collaboration with the Kitchen Manager and oversee the kitchen team ensuring great quality food is produced that delights our guests. Key Responsibilities People Train, supervise, and support the team in food safety and health procedures. Lead, mentor, and develop staff to maximise their skills and professional growth strong communication with the FOH team and management for seamless service. Conduct pre-service briefings to align the team and address key updates. Communicate any challenges, conflicts, or updates to the management team. Places Maintain the highest food standards by ensuring adherence to recipes, specifications, and plating guidelines. Ensure all dishes are prepared with consistency, following proper cooking methods and presentation standards. Conduct regular taste tests before food is packed and stored. Monitor food quality during service, ensuring excellence in every dish served. Follow the “Menu changes” policy to ensure all menu changes at Winnie's are executed smoothly, maintaining compliance with food safety regulations. Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP), hygiene standards, and allergen management. Oversee completion of due diligence, checklists, and all temperature checks (fridges/freezers, cooking/reheating, cooling, etc.). 100% completion of Alert65 tasks is expected. Please refer to our internal Food safety guide for guidance. Ensure all food is stored safely and in compliance with Health & Safety regulations. Maintain proper food labelling procedures and ensure team adherence. Please refer to Winnie’s labelling procedure for guidance. Communicate all pest control visits to management via email, including visit dates. Ensure daily and weekly cleaning schedules are completed thoroughly and documented. Organise and oversee deep cleans, following established checklists and schedules Ensure the KPs fulfil their weekly cleaning duties. Ensure proper use of PPE when handling dangerous cleaning chemicals. Follow COSHH risk assessments matrix for guidance. In the event of an accident, provide immediate assistance, report to management, and document the incident appropriately. Take responsibility for maintaining and restocking the kitchen's First Aid Kit, ensuring it is always up to date and easily accessible. Take full responsibilities of the kitchen and BOH operation during Head Chef absence. Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. Assign and delegate prep tasks effectively to ensure timely service setup. Maintain prep lists and schedules for current and upcoming service days. Place and receive orders and process invoices through Nory, ensuring accuracy and timely stock replenishment Store & save invoices. Inspect deliveries, addressing any discrepancies with suppliers. Ensure an adequate supply of cleaning products and consumables is maintained. Report maintenance or repair needs to the GM, F&B Manager, or Management team. Ensure proper care, cleaning, and storage of all kitchen equipment and materials.
