Financial Controller – Manufacturing
Nottingham | Multi-site International Group | Senior Leadership Role
An established international manufacturing group is building out its UK presence in Nottingham and is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a sizeable, multi-million-pound operation.
This is not a back-office reporting role. It's a genuine leadership position where you'll shape the UK finance structure, drive performance, and act as the key financial voice on site.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the UK MD, with a dotted line into Group Finance overseas, you'll take full ownership of the finance agenda across the UK business. You'll be responsible for both strategic financial leadership and day-to-day operational control.
You will:
Build and embed a robust UK finance function fit for growth
Lead and develop a team of five (including financial and cost accounting capability)
Take full accountability for P&L, balance sheet integrity, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
Oversee monthly and annual reporting to Group, ensuring accuracy, control and transparency
Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, tax and VAT requirements, and maintain audit readiness
Drive cash flow management, banking relationships and KPI reporting
Own cost accounting, manufacturing margins, machine costing, CapEx and profitability analysis
Play a key role in strategic initiatives, including a planned site relocation in the coming years
Partner closely with operations and commercial colleagues to improve efficiency and margin
This is a role for someone who enjoys being visible on site, influencing decisions and improving processes rather than simply reporting numbers.
About You
You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong background in manufacturing finance. Experience within a group or multi-entity environment is important, as is exposure to cost accounting and operational finance.
