Head of UK Quality Full Time Permanent Role Derby The Role This role will lead the UK Quality function across its key sites and businesses units. The ambition of the company is to double its UK business over the next 3 5 years whilst building a global presence in Europe, US, MENA and ASIAPAC. As a key member of the Quality Leadership Team and reporting to the Head of Quality for the Global On Demand division at Uniphar, you will have the opportunity to contribute and support the strategy for the group-wide quality function whilst at the same time working day to day within the business with a dotted line to the On Demand Quality Lead and Pharma Managing Director and a key member of the wider leadership team. Key Outcomes Partner with the Head of Quality for Global on Demand and Technical Operations Director to develop and deliver a strategy for the quality function for the UK Business including; Providing leadership to the UK Quality and Regulatory teams, building the quality function ensuring that is fit for purpose to support the business ambition and growth targets. Building a best-in-class quality team and creating a high performance quality culture across all of functions within the business. Create an environment of right first time in everything that we do through a focus on principles of lean, including simplification, standard work, visual management, and a learning organisation Ensuring that all SOPs are clearly defined and integrated within the wider business and are supporting the day-to-day operations of the business. Responsible for oversight of QA (QA System, QA Operations, Disposition, Quality Risk Management (QRM) and Permanent Inspection Readiness (PIR)) Manage all key relationship with MHRA, Home Office, Department of Health and other stakeholders from a quality perspective. Fulfil the requirements of a Responsible Person and Responsible Person for Imports, as defined in the Human Medicines regulations 2012 to support and guide the UK RP and RPis. Promoting a culture of quality achievement and performance improvement across the organisation whilst ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation. Embed the One Uniphar Culture in line with Uniphars Global Quality Objectives Monitoring performance through gathering relevant data and producing Quality KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the quality function. Manage and identify the quality-related training needs of business and ensure the culture of the organisation from within. Build strong relationships with Business Leaders and Heads of other functions within the business though developing a solution focuses mindset across the organisation. Build partnerships within the Group Quality Community to create and sustain a culture that demonstrates excellence in quality and continuous improvement Work with the Operations and Commercial teams to support on key projects within the wider business. Responsible for the management of eQMS/, including but not limited to; Change control, Document Management, SQM, Deviation Management & CAPAs, PIR, QRM, Customer Complaints, Returns & Recalls Responsible for teams goal setting, ongoing performance reviews and development planning for direct reports and function Lead all client facing interactions Responsible for timely updates of functional achievements and challenges, working cross-functionally on resolving obstacles to maintain a highly effective and productive functional group Act as subject matter expert for Quality and GxP matters in the UK businesses. Other duties which may be reasonably required from time to time by company managers, including delegated duties during the absence of colleagues. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology) or equivalent. > 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or similar regulated Industry in a Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Technical, or Regulatory position or a combination thereof and/or working with a regulatory health authority The successful candidate should have the knowledge, experience, and leadership style to grow the Quality team through coaching, strategy build and execution to ensure right first-time operation An ability and willingness to work cross functionally, focusing on meeting, and tracking schedules and embracing an interdependent/flexible work culture A progressive, non-bureaucratic approach to the role with an ability to build trust and credibility quickly across the organisation A willingness to travel across the Global site network to understand the business and build relationships Excellent organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail. Strong background in change management. Good understanding of confidentiality. Adapt to working under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently. Coaching skills. Knowledge and understanding of storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals under GDP. Knowledge and Experience of working with Controlled Drugs Desirable: Experience of using Q-pulse Internal Auditor certificate Experience in working with Unlicensed medicinal products.
