Job Description:
Job overview
I am Lilly, one of the Service managers for the Cambridgeshire Learning Disability Partnership. I trained as an Occupational Therapist and have worked in the team for years.
Our service uniquely allows health and social care to work side by side, enabling us to be truly person-centered for our patients. We promote our patients' rights to choose and maintain their independence. Our patient group is complex and diverse, making this role an exciting opportunity.
Our team comprises both health and social care staff, split across integrated specialist teams, and we also provide specialist health input to our Younger Adult Team.
If successful, you will manage a complex specialist caseload, visiting people at their homes, day services, respite services, and hospitals. Your work will involve addressing various health issues, including mobility, seating, respiratory, dysphagia, bowel management, and promoting health needs of people with learning disabilities.
We offer external enhanced supervision and mentoring tailored to your needs. An experienced learning disability physiotherapist will support your physiotherapy practice.
Main duties of the job
If successful, you will work autonomously, managing assessments, treatments, and the health needs of your clients. You will collaborate with the MDT for risk assessments relevant to physiotherapy.
Effective and sensitive communication with the MDT, service users, carers, and partner agencies is essential. You will have opportunities to lead in implementing and evaluating programs supporting individuals or groups with learning disabilities.
You will provide professional supervision to staff and students, and support the delivery of training to other teams and agencies.
Working for our organisation
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is committed to high-quality, compassionate care to improve health and wellbeing. We deliver NHS services across inpatient, primary care, and community settings, including mental health, learning disabilities, primary care, and more.
We seek high-caliber candidates who share our vision and values. We are an equal opportunities employer, encouraging applications from all community sectors, especially from under-represented groups including disabled people, ethnic minorities, and LGBTQ+ communities.
