We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Director to lead all site operations within a well-established and high-performing manufacturing facility. This role has full accountability for operational performance across the site, excluding Sales, and plays a critical role in driving efficiency, quality, safety, delivery, and cost performance. The successful Operations Director will be a proven operational leader with deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement, capable of translating strategy into practical execution on the shop floor. You will build on an already successful operation, embedding best-in-class processes, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring the site continues to scale and improve sustainably. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and direction for all site operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term strategy. Own site P&L performance from an operational perspective, driving productivity, cost control, margin improvement, and asset utilisation. Lead and develop a strong site leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. Act as the site champion for Lean / CI, embedding a structured improvement culture across all functions. Drive the deployment of Lean tools and methodologies (e.g. Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMED, Standard Work, Kaizen, visual management). Translate strategic improvement objectives into practical, measurable actions on the shop floor. Ensure CI activity delivers tangible, sustainable business benefits rather than short-term gains. Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations that meet customer demand and delivery commitments. Oversee production planning, engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to ensure end-to-end operational excellence. Drive improvements in OEE, yield, right-first-time, and throughput. Create a high-performance, Lean-focused culture where continuous improvement is owned at every level. Develop capability across the organisation through coaching, training, and structured talent development. Promote strong engagement with the shop floor, maintaining a visible, hands-on leadership presence. Maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety & Environmental compliance, ensuring a zero-harm culture. Skills & Expertise Deep, practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing operational budgets and cost structures. Ability to translate high-level strategy into shop-floor execution. Confident, credible leader with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation. Hands-on, visible leader with a strong shop-floor presence.
