Job Summary
The post holder is responsible for managing a personal caseload of eating disorder clients and any additional therapy related activities. The aim is to provide clients with the appropriate therapy input to facilitate their recovery from an eating disorder.
Responsibilities
* Attendance at and contribution to weekly organisational meetings and multi‑disciplinary meetings as required.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of the internal and external multi‑disciplinary health care team.
* Working within EDS organisational policies, NHS and NICE/MEEDS guidelines and regulations.
* Flexibility to work within the day service arm of the organisation as required, supporting clients with meals and snacks.
Clinical/Therapeutic Duties
* Capacity and experience to work with up to 4 clients per day with complex psychological and often medical needs.
* Adherence to EDS policy/boundary to offer short‑to‑medium‑term therapies (between 5–20 sessions).
* Carry out comprehensive assessments for newly referred clients and hand over assessment findings succinctly to the director/team before a joint decision on input offered.
* Keep organisational and clinical records up‑to‑date via the in‑house IT system; communicate clearly in written and verbal format.
* Manage caseload effectively and safely by attending regular monthly therapy supervision.
* Liaise and report regularly with the director regarding potential or current problems with clients on caseload.
Training
A commitment to further training to deliver NICE/MEEDS guideline‑recommended therapies for eating disorders. Statutory training course fees are fully funded. Staff are expected to complete funded Level 2 Food Hygiene training (online) as part of day programme work.
Person Specification
* Experience
* Essential: Minimum of 2 years post‑therapy training experience in a mental health setting.
* Desirable: Previous experience working with individuals with an eating disorder in a specialist setting; experience running therapeutic groups; experience with complex mental or psychological health issues (e.g., EUPD, substance dependencies, trauma).

* Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and visitors in a sensitive and compassionate manner.
* Ability to work within organisational policies and regulations.

* Ability to facilitate small group sessions.
* BACP adherence to ethical framework.
Desirable Requirements
* Previous experience with Microsoft Teams.
* Ability to accept constructive feedback and challenge differences in opinion honestly and respectfully.
* Self‑motivated, adaptable, approachable and flexible.
Qualifications
* Essential: Diploma in Counselling (minimum Level 4) or degree equivalent in psychotherapy training.
* Desirable: Higher level/degree in psychological/therapeutic training; additional therapy qualifications preferably CBT/CBT‑e, Family Therapy (foundation or practitioner level) or another NICE guideline‑recommended therapy for eating disorders.

Job Details
* Salary: £23,341 a year.
* Contract: Fixed term, 12 months.
* Working pattern: Part‑time, home or remote working.
