We are seeking a dynamic, authoritative, and highly organized School Office Manager to lead the administrative heart of a thriving secondary academy. In this role, you will be responsible for the seamless integration of all school support services, ensuring that the administrative infrastructure provides a world-class foundation for student achievement and staff excellence. The Role & Department You will lead a multi-disciplinary administrative team, reporting directly to the School Business Manager and the Principal. This is a high-level leadership role within the support staff structure, requiring a candidate who can manage people, processes, and complex data with equal proficiency. You will oversee the front-of-house, admissions, and clerical teams, creating a culture of high expectations and professional service. The academy provides a modern, fast-paced environment where the office manager is recognized as a key driver of institutional efficiency and school reputation. Core Responsibilities Team Leadership: Managing and developing the administrative staff, including conducting performance reviews, coordinating workloads, and ensuring the office provides a high standard of support to the wider school. Operations & Systems: Taking full ownership of the school’s Management Information System ( SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom ), ensuring data integrity for statutory returns and internal reporting. Admissions & Transitions: Overseeing the secondary transfer process and mid-year admissions, acting as a primary point of liaison for the Local Authority and prospective families. Communications Strategy: Managing the school’s external profile, including the oversight of the website, social media, and the production of high-quality parental communications and marketing materials. Office Finance & Procurement: Assisting with the monitoring of office budgets, procurement of supplies, and managing the administration of school-wide contracts and services. The Successful Candidate We are looking for a natural leader with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for school improvement. Requirements include: Experience: Significant experience in school administration at a senior level, with a proven track record of managing staff within a secondary setting. Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge of school MIS software and the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel for advanced data management). Communication Skills: The ability to communicate with clarity and authority to a wide range of stakeholders, from students and parents to governors and external partners.
