Design Engineer – Mechanical Products
About The Role
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the design and development of our mechanical product range. Working within an ISO 9001 environment, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, manufacturable designs using advanced 3D CAD tools.
Key Responsibilities
* Design mechanical components and assemblies using NX, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
* Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing and assembly.
* Perform engineering calculations, including FEA and FMEA analysis.
* Manage new product development projects and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Produce technical documentation such as material specifications, IOM manuals, and Bills of Materials.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to value engineering (VAVE) efforts.
* Support testing, supplier visits, and customer interactions as needed.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical design within a 3D CAD environment.
* Strong knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA).
* Experience with FEA software and rotating machinery is highly desirable.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
* A proactive team player with a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred.
* HNC/HND with relevant industry experience will also be considered.
* IEng registration is a plus.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD software is essential.
