Job Title: Joiner
Location: Warwick University, Coventry
Contract Type: Temporary (Project-Based)
Salary: £20 - £22 per hour
Reporting To: Site Supervisor / Project Manager
Job Purpose:
To carry out high-quality joinery work as part of a construction or refurbishment project at Warwick University. The role involves working on-site to install, repair, and maintain wooden structures and fittings in accordance with project specifications and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install doors, windows, partitions, staircases, and other wooden fixtures.
* Read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
* Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials accurately.
* Work collaboratively with other trades and contractors on-site.
* Ensure all work complies with building regulations and safety standards.
* Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Requirements:
Essential:
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent.
* Proven experience in site-based joinery work.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
* Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
* CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Desirable:
* Experience working on university or public sector projects.
* PASMA or IPAF certification.
* First Aid certification.
Working Conditions:
* Outdoor and indoor site work across Warwick University campus.
* PPE must be worn at all times.
* May involve working at height or in confined spaces.
