Robertson are working with a leading landscaping and external works contractor as they look for a senior estimator. The candidate will be ready to dive in, bring new ideas, and grow alongside the company. You will be working alongside junior estimators, and it will be up to you to help elevate the entire teams performance. Working hours: Monday to Friday. 08:00am - 17:00pm Responsibilities: Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for landscape construction projects. Perform quantity take-offs and develop material, labor, and equipment pricing. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive and complete proposals. Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings as necessary to understand site conditions and project requirements. Lead the preparation and submission of bid proposals, including bid forms, narratives, and supporting documentation. Coordinate with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals. Track historical cost data and maintain an internal cost database to improve estimating accuracy. Identify and assess risk factors and develop contingency strategies. Provide value engineering ideas and cost-saving solutions when appropriate. Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators and support staff. Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and market conditions Skills Strong knowledge of landscape construction materials, techniques, and cost factors. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Aspire, B2W, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents. Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
