* After training: Piece work — averaging £15.00+ per hour
Are you an experienced Forge Line Operator looking to join a busy and established team in a well-run forging environment?
We’re hiring for a skilled and motivated Forge Line Operator to work on a variety of forging machines including Platt (1” & 1.5”), Covmac, and Weingarten Screw Presses. This is a physical, fast-paced role ideal for someone who takes pride in quality and safety.
Hours of Work:
* Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Lunch: 1:00 – 1:30 PM)
* Friday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
* Hot weather schedule: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform daily TPMs and 5S housekeeping of forging line equipment
* Operate forge presses safely and in line with established guidelines
* Use gauges to verify part dimensions and ensure quality
* Work independently or in a two-person team to forge and trim parts
* Accurately complete production and quality control documentation
* Handle bars from 150mm to 1500mm in length and 12mm to 40mm in diameter
* Operate forging and clipping presses as needed
* Report any defects or equipment faults immediately and stop production if required
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment
What We’re Looking For:
* Minimum 1 years’ experience in a forging or manufacturing environment
* Experience operating Platt, Covmac, and Weingarten Screw Presses preferred
* Good understanding of diesel fire and induction heating operations
* Physically fit — comfortable lifting large/heavy bars and using tongs
* Quality-focused with the ability to spot and act on production issues
* Able to work both alone and as part of a team
* Strong attitude towards health and safety
* Good English communication skills (spoken & written)
* UK Citizenship required due to legal compliance
