Job Description
We are supporting a large London local authority at a critical and exciting point in its housing improvement journey. The organisation is committed to delivering safe, high-quality services for residents and is undergoing significant transformation across its housing function.
The housing service continues to face major operational challenges, including :
* Pressures within the Housing Revenue Account (HRA)
* Delivery of a neighbourhood and community services improvement plan
* A lack of digital interface with residents
* The ongoing need to invest in and modernise housing stock
Despite these challenges, meaningful progress has already been made. Significant improvements have been delivered across repairs, contact centre performance, and complaints management, while the compliance team maintains resident safety, achieving between 98%–100% annual compliance across the top six safety areas.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Delivery (Housing) to support the next phase of transformation. Reporting into the Assistant Director – Housing Improvement & Governance, you will play a pivotal role in driving and embedding service-wide change.
Key responsibilities will include :
* Leading and delivering major change initiatives across the housing service
* Implementing strategic and policy changes
* Ensuring inspection readiness and supporting regulatory compliance
* Designing and delivering new business initiatives
* Overseeing major service redesign and system change projects
* Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders to improve operational performance and resident outcomes
This is a high-impact role suited to an interim leader who is comfortable operating in complex environments and delivering tangible improvements at pace.
About You
You will bring :
* Proven experience in a senior housing leadership or delivery role within a local authority or complex housing organisation
* A strong track record of leading large-scale service transformation
* Experience working within financially constrained environments, ideally with HRA exposure
* Confidence managing inspection readiness, governance, and performance
* Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills

* Rate : £550 per day (Umbrella)

* Contract : Ongoing Interim Contract
