Finance Assistant
Location: Luton
Salary:£30,000 to £40,000 per annum
Hourly Rate: approximately £15.40 to £20.50 per hour based on a 37.5 hour week
Contract: Temporary ongoing with a view to becoming permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday
9:00am to 5:00pm flexible
30 minute break
The Opportunity
We are supporting a growing SME who are looking to bring in an experienced Finance Assistant on a temporary ongoing basis with a clear view to the role becoming permanent.
This is a hands on position within a small close knit finance team ideal for someone who enjoys variety responsibility and working in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the purchase ledger and processing high volumes of transactions
Maintaining and reconciling cashbooks
Performing regular bank reconciliations
Processing client receipts and allocating payments accurately
Raising and managing sales invoices
Supporting with VAT reporting and knowledge
Using Excel daily including formulas and data handling
Assisting with general finance administration and ad hoc tasks as required
What We’re Looking For in a Finance Assistant
AAT qualified or equivalent
Proven experience within an SME finance function
Strong understanding of reconciliations cashbooks purchase ledger and VAT
Confident Excel user with formulas essential
Comfortable handling high transaction volumes
Highly adaptable proactive and happy to support across multiple areas of finance
Reliable detail focused and a strong team player
