We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist SEND school based in Morpeth, Northumberland, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. The working hours for this role are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm The Role As the Speech and Language Therapist, you will assess, plan, and deliver tailored interventions to support pupils' communication and interaction needs. You will work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to create communication-friendly learning environments and ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities Assess pupils' speech, language, communication, and social interaction needs. Develop and deliver individual and group therapy programmes. Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), annual reviews, and target setting. Provide specialist advice and training to teaching staff and support teams. Work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary professionals to achieve positive outcomes. Support the implementation of communication strategies throughout the school. Monitor, evaluate, and report on pupil progress. Requirements Degree or postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy. HCPC registration. Experience working with children and young people with SEND. Knowledge of Autism, SLCN, learning disabilities, and alternative communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, or AAC is desirable. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
