Health & Safety Coordinator (Maternity Cover) Location: Derby Salary: £27,000 per annum (£13.84 per hour) Hours: 37.5 per week Contract Type: Temporary Maternity Cover Start Date: ASAP Staff Power is recruiting on behalf of our client for a proactive and forward-thinking Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team on a temporary maternity cover basis. About the Role Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, youll play a key role in promoting a strong health and safety culture across multiple UK sites. This is a hands-on role offering variety and responsibility, as you support employees and site management teams in maintaining compliance and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and implementing SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) policies and procedures. Maintain and distribute SHE documentation to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Collaborate with managers and performance teams to drive health and safety improvements. Support and coordinate essential SHE training to maintain required competence levels. Conduct internal and external site audits, ensuring legal and policy compliance Participate in and support investigations into accidents and incidents, including reporting and follow-up. Assist with Safety Committee meetings and related initiatives. Prepare and present reports highlighting safety performance, risks, and areas for improvement. What Were Looking For Previous experience in a health, safety, and environmental role. Strong administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Publisher and Excel. Proven policy-writing skills with the ability to produce clear and compliant documentation. Confident communicator with the ability to engage across all levels of an organisation. Strong planning, organisation, and time management abilities.
