About Us

Oakfield Short Stay School is Leicestershire’s provision for school‑aged children who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from school. We have expanded the age range of Oakfield School and as a result we are recruiting staff. Our Secondary Inclusion Partnership staff who did put provisions in place for secondary aged children and young people who have been excluded from school or who are at risk of this have recently joined the team. Therefore you will be part of a vital team in an exciting period of development working with us to meet the needs of children and young people between the ages of 5 and 16 who struggle to manage in mainstream and need a different offer of education to secure their successful next steps.


Role Overview

As the Head of Oakfield therapeutic Inreach and outreach service you will play a crucial role in leading the Oakfield Therapeutic Service, managing therapeutic practices to ensure the highest standards of care and support for children and young people and families. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of therapeutic interventions, managing a team of dedicated professionals and ensuring that our services are responsive, effective and tailored to the needs of those we support.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the provision of a responsive, high‑quality, customer and outcome‑focused service to children, young people, families and partner agencies.
* Collaborate with agencies, monitoring and maintaining the provision of services to children, young people and their families, including managing both general and complex cases.
* Accountability: Oversee and directly provide high‑quality therapeutic services delivered to service requirements using relevant legislation, current evidence‑based practice, regulations, policies and procedures.
* Promote inclusion, demonstrating a commitment to ensuring all pupils and staff feel valued and supported.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.


About You

* Demonstrated experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary team ensuring the provision of a responsive, high‑quality, customer and outcome‑focused service to children, young people, families and partner agencies.
* Experience of overseeing and directly providing high‑quality therapeutic services delivered to service requirements using relevant legislation, current evidence‑based practice, regulations, policies and procedures.
* Experience providing high‑quality supervision, advice and guidance to staff within a therapeutic team.
* Experience of monitoring and maintaining the provision of services to children, young people and their families, including responsibility for complex cases.
* Experience of maintaining management information obtained from case work, uploading into the appropriate database and reporting on significant matters.
* Experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with external agencies, schools and internal colleagues to ensure the best outcome for service users and their families.
* Experience taking responsibility for the achievement of a high level of professional practice that is outcome focused and evidence‑based, including the ongoing professional development of workers and volunteers.
