We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Executive / Manager to join a professional services firm operating within the consulting sector.
This is a key role responsible for overseeing day-to-day business operations, managing third-party service providers, and ensuring smooth internal processes across HR, Finance, IT, and Legal support functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
* Lead and continuously improve internal operations to ensure efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
* Serve as the central point of contact for all operational queries and issues.
* Support the coordination and delivery of onboarding, offboarding, and internal initiatives across departments.
Vendor and Services Oversight
* Manage external service providers across HR, Payroll, IT, and Legal, ensuring performance aligns with service level agreements.
* Oversee vendor contracts, performance reviews, and any escalation or resolution processes.
Governance & Compliance
* Maintain and enhance internal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance through training, communication, and monitoring.
* Support compliance with data protection regulations including GDPR.
* Lead audit readiness and compliance activities for certifications such as ISO9001 and Cyber Essentials.
People & Resource Operations
* Partner with internal teams to support onboarding, contractor management, and workforce engagement.
* Contribute to staff communication efforts and employee wellbeing programmes.
Finance & Procurement Support
* Work alongside the finance function to support budgeting, procurement, and invoice processes.
* Manage procurement of tools, platforms, and operational supplies in accordance with policy.
Continuous Improvement
* Drive operational improvements, cost savings, and process efficiency.
* Lead or contribute to internal system upgrades, process automation, and reporting enhancements
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* At least 5 years’ experience in a similar operations or business support role, ideally within a consulting or professional services environment.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
* Confident managing third-party vendors and partners.
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Hands-on problem solver with a proactive mindset.
* Working knowledge of UK employment practices and business operations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Xero (or similar platforms).Desirable
* Experience working within an SME or fast-paced professional environment.
* Understanding of consultancy operations.
* Familiarity with HRIS, finance systems, or operational management tools.
* Knowledge of GDPR, Health & Safety, ISO9001, and Cyber Essentials frameworks.
