1. Bachelors degree in telecom or compute science
2. 10 experience as Product Manager
3. Wide ranging knowledge and experience in developing andexecuting product development programs and experience in managingsignificant projects or programs
4. CiscoCCNP/CCIE Routing and switching or wireless certification isdesirable
5. The Role is technical in nature. Thecandidate must be well versed in networking technologies such asCisco Software defined networking network routing LAN NetworkSecurity and segmentation based on roles and policies WANmanagement automation and monitoring tools and QoS.
Position Summary:
The candidatewill take ownership for the infrastructure architecture definitionand ongoing evolution of a set of infrastructure requirementshardware and software patterns and solution roadmap and must complywith to ensure new and upgraded services can be efficiently builtto meet well defined SLA performance and ROI targets.
The candidate will oversee and actively drive thedevelopment of the architecture and design of Optel and privatefiber infrastructure substation communications teleprotectionelectric transmission communications IOT and interconnectorconnectivity.
Roles andResponsibilities:
1. Ownership for establishing the Infrastructure governancemodel for Optel private fiber Telemetry TeleProtection CriticalNational Infrastructure (CNI) network architecture and servicemodels to ensure the above requirements are complied with and anyresidual risks are accepted and recorded. To run solutionarchitecture reviews on key programs influence and collaborate withEngineering and Delivery teams on the development of the system andsolutions.
2. Indepth knowledge and workingexperience in the infrastructure architecture and roadmaps for thetechnology.
3. The development of hardware andsoftware architecture patterns. The socialization of the hardwareand software architecture patterns to all Suppliers delivering theservices and the Solution Architects that are delivering allservices.
4. Collaboration with the Solutiondelivery organizations to build understanding and awareness ofoperability requirements and to help shape thinking around emergingdelivery methodologies to ensure the service design principles arenot compromised.
5. Responsible forspecification gaining agreement and application of architecturestandards.
6. Engages with technical design andother Domain Architects to ensure understanding of solutioninteroperability of the combined architecture are met.
7. Examines evidence and evaluates the quality of projectoutputs against the agreed acceptance criteria to ensure correctproducts are produced on schedule and fit for purpose.
8. Develops own ideas or the ideas of others making all thenecessary observations and tests and carrying them through to afull practical demonstration wherever viable and feasible. Wherenecessary designs data collection tools and techniques for bothqualitative and quantitative data.
9. Identifiesand responds to the key business drivers and those areas ofbusiness need which are not adequately supported by current andplanned IT within the strategic planning time frame. Develops thestrategic response to the business requirement and producesbusiness cases for recommended new applications of information andcommunications technologies.
10. Reviews newbusiness proposals and provides specialist advice on informationmanagement including advice on and promotion of collaborativeworking and assessment and management of informationrelated risk.
11. Evaluates major options for providingOperational Telcomm (OT) and IT services effectively andefficiently and recommends solutions. Develops and presentsbusiness cases for highlevel initiatives to executive managementfor approval funding and prioritization.
12. Develops models and plans for the implementation of thestrategy taking advantage of opportunities to improve businessperformance.
13. Conducts post implementationreviews of information and communications technology applicationsand products introduced in pursuit of the strategy to assess theextent to which expected business benefits were realized.
14. Ensures that those within reporting line areappropriately developed motivated empowered and that they deliverappropriate results.
15. This role require 25%travel requirement within USA/UK
Experience Requirements:
* Experiencedeveloping solution architectures platform and technology roadmapsapplying standard architectures and patterns within solutiondesigns.
* Requires a bachelors degree with atleast 10 years of practical experience developing infrastructurearchitecture .
* Has thorough knowledge of fibertechnology and transport network infrastructure architectureapplied to critical services demanding low latency and highavailability.
* Tools for Network PerformanceMonitoring and End to End Service supporting Fiber infrastructure.
* The role is technical in nature. Thecandidate must be well versed in networking technologies such as IPtransport software defined networking network routing OT networkingfiber optic transport systems telemetry systems teleprotectionsystems LAN network security and segmentation based on roles andpolicies service management and automation monitoring tools and QoS
* Defines the infrastructure architecturetechnology roadmap from the asis state to the tobe state.
* Designs a secure efficient and adaptablefuture state model.
* Defines the highlevelmigration plan to address the gaps between the asis and futurestate.
* Excellent presentation andcommunication skills with a high degree of comfort with technicaland business audiences.
* Experience workingwith stakeholders to identify relevant requirements and understandhow those requirements fit into the broader enterprise context forthe application/platform.
* May providespecific subject matter expertise input into the conceptual andtechnical architectures for large and complex projects.
