Senior Chemotherapy Sister/Charge Nurse – Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust
Comet Chemotherapy Unit, located at Crawley Hospital, provides specialised and compassionate care for Haematology and Oncology outpatients. The unit is divided into an outpatient clinic and a day unit. The day unit is equipped with 16 patient chairs and two private single‑room units, ensuring both comfort and confidentiality. Patients receive a variety of treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, chemo‑supportive drugs, blood transfusions, venesections and routine blood tests.
The outpatient clinic operates Monday through Wednesday, with Haematology consultants and CNS follow‑ups. The Chemotherapy Nurse‑Led Clinic runs every Thursday and Friday in the day unit. The unit operates Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding weekends and bank holidays. A blood fridge is available on site for essential blood product storage.
Senior nurses play a key role in providing clinical supervision, fostering professional growth, and ensuring excellence in patient care. Responsibilities include coordinating clinical care, overseeing treatment delivery, supporting team development, and contributing to the delivery of high‑quality patient services.
