Senior Health Care Support Worker – Acute Medicine Unit
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Health Care Support Worker to join our team within the Acute Medicine Unit at Raigmore Hospital.
The role requires a motivated, caring and compassionate person who can work well under pressure. The ideal candidate should either have experience in an acute hospital environment or be looking to gain such experience. You will support work in the Acute Medical Assessment, the Medical High Dependency Unit, and the Ambulatory Emergency Care services. The AMU (Ward GA) admits acutely unwell patients from the community and the Emergency Department in a fast‑paced and busy environment.
To succeed you must be able to work well within a large and diverse multidisciplinary team, have strong written and verbal English language skills, be enthusiastic about learning and development, and demonstrate excellent core values and a strong sense of team spirit.
This is a band 3 post. We encourage applications from candidates who do not yet have the full experience, as we can discuss how the required skills can be developed at interview.

Additional Information For Candidates
* Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted on a pro‑rated basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
