My client is seeking someone to support the Strategic Finance Business Partner in providing financial support and assistance to the Council's wholly owned local authorities. You will play a key role in delivering financial insights and support to various stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner
1. Support in the production and closure of accounts for council-owned companies
2. Coordinate and prepare financial reports for the council and its companies
3. Deliver financial insights, advice, and accountancy support for a portfolio area
4. Work with senior stakeholders to prepare and monitor budgets
5. Act as a strategic advisor to managers to facilitate informed decision-making
6. Participate in the council's ongoing cost reduction programme
Required skills and experience
1. Fully qualified accountant or working towards qualification
2. Previous experience in a public sector finance role
3. Knowledge of accounting regulations
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills
5. Experience in constructing financial reports
6. Ability to manage a varied and demanding workload
