Job Title: Facilities Assistant

Overview
A Facilities Assistant is required to support the day-to-day operation of a busy innovation and office environment. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, secure, compliant, and high-quality workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors. This is a hands-on position within a Facilities team and requires flexibility to meet operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Facilities team in maintaining a clean, tidy, safe, and well-run building
* Assist with the delivery of facilities services, on-site maintenance, and general building support
* Carry out basic in-house maintenance tasks and minor DIY repairs
* Receive, log, and distribute deliveries to relevant internal stakeholders
* Support and monitor contractors during on-site works
* Ensure work areas remain compliant with health and safety requirements at all times
* Assist with internal office moves and workspace reconfigurations
* Provide guidance to staff on workstation and desk setup, training provided
* Carry out porter duties including meeting room and communal space setup and reinstatement
* Complete routine daily, weekly, and monthly safety and housekeeping checks and record findings
* Support health and safety compliance and adherence to internal procedures and standards
* Be flexible with working hours and provide out-of-hours support for facilities issues when required
* Assist with ad hoc tasks as required to support business operations
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in a facilities, maintenance, or similar support role
* Basic understanding of health and safety requirements
* Practical understanding of building maintenance and minor repair work
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Practical skills such as electrical, plumbing, or carpentry are beneficial but not essential
* Forklift licence advantageous but not essential, training can be provided
Additional Requirements
* Role may require background checks and eligibility for UK security clearance
