Job Title: Sales Engineer Formwork & Falsework

Remuneration: £45,000-£50,000 + 1% commission

Role Overview
The role of the Formwork & Falsework Sales Engineer will involve a technical field sales position, selling the hire (80%) and sale (20%) of formwork and falsework equipment.
Key responsibilities:
* 70% proactively stimulating demand for equipment through end users and tier One and tier Two contractors.
* 30% reactively dealing with well‑established relationships within formwork and falsework sub‑contractors.
* Responsible for an area with a turnover of circa £1m, currently performing below budget expectations.
* Follow up on Barbour ABI leads and own industry contacts.
* Spend a large proportion of time on construction sites and visiting head offices.
* Engage in projects typically £8,000–£25,000, with larger projects up to £70,000–£80,000.
* Utilise a team of qualified engineers for technical support.
* Visit construction sites (approximately 4.5 days a week) and conduct 4–5 customer visits per day.
The ideal applicant will be a Formwork & Falsework Sales Engineer with the following background:
* Open to most civils or plant/tools hire backgrounds.
* Technical brain.
* Ideally experience in hiring equipment to construction sites.
* Formwork or falsework technical field sales experience is ideal but not essential.
* Construction site experience, or an engineer working in a design office, or a tool hire professional looking for a field sales role.
* Strong new‑business skills.
* Energetic, driven, passionate, and enthusiastic.
* Open to hire or sales industry field sales experience.
* Companies of interest include GAP, Dewalt, Wurth, Speedy Hire, Hilti, Sunbelt or structural steel businesses or formwork consumables.
* Mix of construction and engineering background preferred.
