Description
Red Bull Powertrains is offering an incredible opportunity for skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our ERS Production team as we head into our first-ever racing season with a Red Bull designed power unit. These roles will be a key part of the Team which is responsible to work on the mechanical design of tools for cell preparation, subsystem and battery cell testing along with MGU manufacturing and build.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in bringing innovative ideas to life, including:
1. Designing cutting-edge production equipment, bespoke jigs and precision tooling
2. Finalising, validating and releasing robust engineering drawings
3. Working closely with the Production Engineering Team Leader to define realistic project timelines and deliver on them
4. Ensuring every design meets the highest Design Office standards
5. Planning, organising and overseeing rig testing to prove out performance
6. Interpreting test data, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving enhancements
7. Presenting clear, structured reports that translate complex findings into actionable insights
To be successful in this Mechanical Engineer role, you will need:
8. A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
9. Proven experience designing metallic components
10. Strong understanding of core mechanical design principles, including machining, fixings, sealing, fabrication and surface treatments
11. Ability to take designs from concept through to fully detailed drawings
12. Proficiency with CAD tools, ideally Siemens NX
13. Beneficial experience with lithium-ion batteries, cell testing or cell manufacturing equipment
14. Confidence working in cross-cultural environments and collaborating effectively within a team, while also operating independently when needed
15. Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally
