+ Responsible for the delivery of effective, high-quality nursing care in accordance with local, service line, and Trust policies and guidelines, with the support of the Senior Nursing Team.

+ Participate in South West Neonatal Network service development.

+ Participate in and demonstrate evidence-based practice.

Candidate Requirements

* We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, innovative nurse to work effectively within the ward team.
* You should possess an RN, RSCN, RN Child, or RM qualification.
* Completion of the Neonatal Modules is desirable, but a willingness to work towards achieving them is acceptable.
* Experience of working within a neonatal environment is desirable, including recent experience gained as a student within a Neonatal Placement.
* Applications from nurses working within adult areas who wish to bring their transferable skills into a Neonatal setting are also considered.
* We provide a supportive, friendly environment with the neonate and their family at the centre of everything we do.
* The unit operates an 11.5-hour shift system covering days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
* You will become part of a passionate team ensuring the care we provide is safe, high quality, and compassionate.


Job Overview

Our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) is a busy Level 1 unit providing 10 cots in total, comprising 2 HDU cots and 8 Special Care cots, with a Transitional Care Service in development.

We provide care to babies and their families from 32 weeks gestation, but also provide stabilization for babies born before this gestation or critically ill term neonates prior to retrieval by the Peninsula Neonatal Transport Team.
