Overview

In shaping and delivering our local strategy to reduce the impact of parental conflict. You\'ll work across services and sectors—bringing together professionals from health, education, social care, the police, and the voluntary sector—to ensure a joined-up, evidence-based approach to supporting families. A key part of your role will be planning and delivering training for multi-agency staff, including specialist sessions on Children Affected by Parental Imprisonment (CAPO). You\'ll also lead and support Champions groups, helping embed RPC and CAPO awareness and practice across North Somerset. You\'ll be a trusted source of guidance for practitioners, offering support and tools to help them work confidently with families experiencing conflict. You\'ll also deliver evidence-based parenting programmes for separated parents, helping them build healthier co-parenting relationships. Monitoring and evaluation will be part of your day-to-day, ensuring that the work is making a measurable difference—and that we\'re always learning and improving. Key Responsibilities

* Carry out the duties and responsibilities under a range of legislation
* Lead the development and implementation of the local Reducing Parental Conflict strategy
* Align RPC work with wider family support, early help, and safeguarding priorities
* Partnership Development
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, including health, Police, education, social care, and the voluntary sector
* Facilitate multi-agency collaboration to ensure a joined-up approach to supporting families
* Workforce Development: provide training and toolkits around RPC and CAPO
* Deliver training for practitioners on identifying and addressing parental conflict
* Support the embedding of evidence-based tools and approaches across services
* Awareness Raising
* Promote understanding of the impact of parental conflict on children\'s outcomes
* Develop and disseminate resources and guidance for professionals and families
* Monitoring and Evaluation
* Collect and analyse data to assess the effectiveness of interventions and inform continuous improvement
* Report on outcomes and contribute to local and national evaluation frameworks
* Practice Support
* Provide advice and consultation to practitioners working with families experiencing conflict
* Support the development of pathways and referral mechanisms for targeted support
* Contribute to the development of local policies and procedures related to family support and relationship conflict
* Ensure compliance with national guidance and best practice


About You

* Has experience in partnership working and service coordination
* Understands the impact of parental conflict and parental offending on child development and family wellbeing
* Is confident delivering training and supporting workforce development
* Can analyse data and use insights to inform practice and policy
* Is an excellent communicator and relationship-builder
* Can deliver group interventions to parents


Essential Criteria

* Relevant qualification in social work, education, health, youth work, family support, or a related field
* Evidence of continued professional development in areas related to family support, parenting, or conflict resolution
* Experience of multi-agency working, including collaboration with health, education, police, social care, and voluntary sector partners
* Experience in delivering or coordinating training to professionals
* Experience supporting families experiencing parental conflict or separation
* Experience in facilitating or delivering parenting programmes or group work
* Strong understanding of the impact of parental conflict on children\'s emotional and developmental outcomes
* Knowledge of evidence-based approaches to reducing parental conflict
* Awareness of the needs of children affected by parental imprisonment (CAPO)
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles and procedures
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
* Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Ability to deliver training and support workforce development confidently
* Competence in monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on programme outcomes
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role
* Willingness to travel across North Somerset and work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends
* Must hold full UK driving Licence


Desirable Criteria

* Qualification or training in delivering professional learning or facilitation (e.g. Train the Trainer)
* Experience of working with families affected by parental imprisonment (CAPO)
* Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and how they apply to family support
* Familiarity with local services and systems in North Somerset or similar local authority areas
* Ability to use digital tools and platforms to support training delivery and service coordination
* Understanding of national policy and guidance related to parental conflict and family support
