About the Role
As a Chef de Partie, you will take charge of a specific kitchen section, leading by example and ensuring that every dish meets our high standards. Your role will be pivotal in preparing, cooking, and presenting exceptional meals while supporting your team in delivering delicious and safe food efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee your kitchen section, ensuring food is prepared and presented to perfection.
* Adhere to all food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen regulations.
* Train and mentor commis chefs and kitchen assistants.
* Minimize waste through effective food recovery and storage practices.
* Assist with processing food orders and managing deliveries.
* Maintain cleanliness across all kitchen areas and equipment.
* Ensure safe and correct use of all kitchen equipment.
* Support broader kitchen operations as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
* Strong culinary skills and experience in a similar kitchen environment.
* Leadership qualities with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Business-minded approach to kitchen operations and food cost control.
* Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance.
* Positive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to thrive under pressure.
* Flexibility and commitment to a varied work schedule.
Desirable Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
* Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3 certification.
* Previous experience with Compass Group systems or One Compass training (preferred but not essential).
