Job Description: As a Water Quality Analyst at Heathrow Airport, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and reliability of one of the UK's most complex potable water networks. Working within a skilled team, you'll carry out sampling and testing across the airport, from our airfields and terminals to our on-site laboratory. Your work will be critical in maintaining water quality standards, ensuring compliance, and protecting the wellbeing of passengers, colleagues, and contractors. This role offers a unique mix of hands-on, physical work and meticulous, detail-focused analysis, giving you variety in your day-to-day and the chance to enhance and grow your technical skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Following regulated guidelines to collect and transport drinking-water samples from various sources across the airport.
2. Using defined processes and systems to conduct laboratory tests of water samples to determine chemical or microbiological parameters.
3. Visiting sites across the campus to monitor for pollution or contamination.
4. Liaising with external regulatory agencies and authorities, and working closely with the water services and environmental teams.
5. Supporting the safety and compliance manager in investigations into breaches in water quality.
6. Maintaining accurate and compliant records within our Maximo system.
7. Full UK driving license and the ability to obtain and maintain airside licenses and permits.
8. Demonstrable experience within a UKAS accredited laboratory environment.
9. Effective communication of findings to colleagues and management.
10. Analytical problem-solving skills and data understanding.
11. Knowledge of laboratory processes and equipment.
12. Knowledge of Maximo or similar asset management system.
