Job Description:
As an Adults Social Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of adults in Halton. This dynamic position calls for a commitment to excellence and a proactive approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
What you will do:
* Conduct thorough assessments to identify social work service needs, manage risk, and address safeguarding concerns with apt interventions.
* Advise on and provide access to suitable social care services, contributing expert opinions on provisions to commissioners as needed.
* Collaborate with other professionals, statutory bodies, and voluntary agencies, ensuring comprehensive assessment and support planning.
* Manage a specific caseload by adhering to council priorities and legislative requirements, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
* Maintain detailed records with impeccable administrative support, producing high-quality reports and assessments.
* Fulfill the council’s statutory duties, aligning all practice with legal expectations.
* Chair various meetings and provide expert input during case conferences to achieve desired outcomes for service users.
* Engage in supervision sessions, team meetings, and training to uphold professional growth and promote industry best practices.
* Share your knowledge to contribute to service development, enhancing the expertise of colleagues and external partners.
* Serve as a mentor by providing training and guidance to social workers, support staff, and carers, supporting continuous learning.
* Offer supervision to newly qualified social workers, students, and junior staff, maintaining robust standards of practice.
* Adapt to various tasks aligned with the role’s grade when required.
Qualifications:
* Hold a BA in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
* Registered with Social Work England.
* Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) with a Development Portfolio.
Experience and Skills:
* Expertise in managing complex cases and high-risk scenarios.
* Capability to work independently and provide insights within the organisation.
* Solid grasp of relevant legislation and policies governing adult social care.
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with a range of stakeholders.
* Ability in producing detailed assessments and reports promptly.
* Experience in mentoring and guiding junior staff and newly qualified social workers.
* Commitment to professional growth and ethical practice.
