Exciting Opportunity for a Contracts Engineer.
As a Contracts Engineer, you will support the business and its customers in providing contract parts from handover to despatch, to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction with our services and equipment, particularly those customers with Customer Care Agreements. You will be the main point of contact for parts contracts for customers both internal and external and will proactively seek ways to improve the processes and performance that will improve customer service.
This is a temporary position for 12 months working 37.5 hours per week. We offer hybrid working for this role which will allow you to enjoy the balance of home working and collaboration time with the team in our modern, friendly offices which include free onsite parking.

What Needs To Be Done?
1. Ensure you fully understand the customer requirements
2. Assess the order received and identify the full scope of supply
3. To be a problem solver, and not afraid to use new ideas/ initiatives and challenge our processes
4. Strong team player and talented person to create relationship with their contacts
5. Deputise for supervisor and other colleagues when required
6. Continually update personal knowledge of relevant new technologies, legal, safety, contractual and export compliance regulations
7. Carry out any other reasonable request for a company or department level initiative or task as may be required from time to time
8. Managing spares parts supply contracts from handover through to the end of our warranty obligations
9. Responsible for the pro-active management of the costs and project margin for the complete scope of supply in- house manufactured and bought-out equipment and/ or services
10. Liaise with design engineers and manufacturing areas to ensure full compliance with original design specification, customer specifications and delivery requirements
11. Working closely with our Supply Chain Team to issue enquiries and orders to suppliers for proprietary equipment
12. Working closely with Operational colleagues on the manufacture of in-house products
13. Working closely with colleagues in Quality Assurance to ensure the appropriate quality requirements are planned and achieved
14. Liaise with colleagues as appropriate to resolve any issues on contract conditions and financial requirements
15. Manage the full technical and commercial information for all assigned contracts
16. Negotiation on issues with customers as appropriate and within levels of delegated authority
17. Diligence at all times in protecting the Company commercial and warranty liabilities
18. Issue contract documentation and work as part of team for handover to production
19. Achieve individual and team KPls for performance in relation to customer feedback, enquiry response time, volume of sales, on-time delivery and margin growth
20. Ensure all requirements for export and legal compliance are understood and followed
21. Ensure ERP system data is kept up to date with the latest information
22. Ensure that the highest levels of quality assurance are maintained for all activities within scope of the role
23. Actively seek opportunities to offer additional products and services that will add value to the customer
24. Fully support the processes for revenue recognition and cash collection
What Do You Need To Bring?
25. Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, either already holding or working towards a HND or equivalent
26. Previous experience working in engineering or manufacturing
27. Good knowledge of similar products and the processes to manufacture them
28. Well organised with the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast paced environment
29. Previous experience of delivering similar solutions for customers is essential
30. Previous experience working with suppliers of mechanical, electrical and electronic products is desirable
31. Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office products, ERP and CRM systems
32. Excellent interpersonal communication and written skills
33. Good commercial acumen and taking balanced commercial risks where appropriate
34. Some knowledge and experience working with financial processes
35. Knowledge of export compliance requirements would be desirable
36. An eye for detail and working diligently to ensure activities are fully completed to conclusion
37. Good commercial experience with a variety of different contract type
