Procurement Assistant
Location: Shotton Mill, Deeside
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (40 paid hours per week)
Salary: Dependent on experience
We are looking for a motivated and organised Procurement Assistant to join our team at Shotton Mill, Deeside. This role will support our operations by sourcing and ordering materials, equipment, and services—particularly for engineering and maintenance requirements. The ideal candidate will have some prior experience in procurement, with an understanding of how to source effectively for engineering or industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the day-to-day procurement of goods and services, ensuring best value, quality, and timely delivery.
* Raise purchase orders and manage the order process from request through to delivery.
* Liaise with engineering teams to understand requirements and specifications.
* Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers, negotiating where necessary to secure cost savings.
* Monitor stock levels and ensure critical materials are available when needed.
* Maintain accurate records and support the wider procurement function with reporting and administration.
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Understanding of sourcing engineering supplies, spare parts, or technical services.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Competence in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) and experience with procurement or ERP systems is advantageous.
