Faststream is partnering with a UK South Coast-based marine design and engineering specialist with a strong track record of delivering innovative solutions for both military and commercial vessels. Their services cover concept design, technical support, consultancy, and full project delivery, with particular expertise in electric and hybrid vessel technology.
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join the team, reporting directly to the Managing Director. This role will be instrumental in driving business growth across military and commercial marine sectors, delivering high-quality design projects, and forging strong, lasting relationships with industry partners.
Responsibilities
* Drive business development activities with a focus on increasing third-party work, including design, technical support, and consultancy projects.
* Delivering design projects for larger military vessels
* Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships across target markets.
* Represent the company at key trade shows, conferences, and exhibitions.
* Lead marketing initiatives, including website content and social media.
* Oversee the preparation of proposals and tender submissions.
* Maintain and manage an up-to-date opportunities database.
* Supervise and support the Business Development Administrator.
Requirements
* Sound experience in a business development/ hunter role
* Relevant experience in the UK military and/or commercial marine industry.
* Strong technical knowledge of smaller military and commercial vessels.
* Self-motivated, ambitious, and results-driven.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Willingness to travel frequently within the UK and internationally, sometimes at short notice.
* Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
