About the Client/Child
Amy is a bright, determined and delightful 5-year-old who lives with her mum and siblings in a lively family home. She has an acquired brain injury and cerebral palsy, along with cognitive and physical fatigue. Without structured rest, Amy can become overstimulated, which may lead to distress and emotional outbursts. She is mobile for short distances but uses a wheelchair for longer outings. Amy enjoys school, therapies (physio, OT, hydrotherapy), socialising and spending time with her sisters. She thrives with structured support, balanced activity and rest, and consistent routines.
The Role at a Glance
This is a hands-on, varied role supporting Amy throughout her day while also assisting her siblings and mum. Mornings focus on school routines for the children. Amy attends school part-time (academic mornings) and returns home early afternoon for rest, therapies and calm activities. You may support her 1:1 at school (if agreed), attend therapy sessions, and manage her fatigue levels. You\'ll also assist with household tasks such as cooking from scratch, laundry, tidying and general organisation, helping maintain a smooth-running home.
This Job Would Suit
A calm, confident and proactive nanny who thrives in a busy household. Someone who can recognise early signs of fatigue, manage emotional regulation with patience, and naturally balance childcare with household responsibilities.
Why You\'ll Love This Role
You\'ll join a warm, supportive family in a modern home, building a meaningful long-term relationship with Amy and her siblings. There are opportunities to work alongside therapy professionals, support development programmes, and join the family on UK and international trips.
