Offer description

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and confident School Counsellor to join our team at Laurus Cheadle Hulme. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one counselling support to students and work with small groups to promote wellbeing through initiatives such as mindfulness, managing exam stress, and developing self-esteem strategies. If you would like to join our Laurus family in a rewarding role that changes the lives of our pupils by empowering them to become the best that they can be then we would love to hear from you. This position is contracted on a 30 hours per week Term Time Only basis. This means you will mainly work when the school is open to pupils and will not need to work during the school holidays unless the contract requires you to do so. In total you will be in work for a minimum of 37 out of 52 weeks. Job Purpose (For further details on the role, please find the Job Description below) To work with students in small groups on aspects of wellbeing including mindfulness, coping with exam stress and improving self-esteem. To work closely with the Pastoral Team at the school to create a positive culture regarding mental health issues and raising awareness. Key Skills & Experience Level 4 Counselling Diploma is essential. Demonstratable experience of counselling young people (450 hours minimum).
