Do you want a job where no two days are the same? Well, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Asset Compliance Officer to join our Service Delivery Team. The ideal candidate will ensure the integrity and accountability of our IT asset estate its maintained.
About the Role
The role will involve working in the busy Asset Management section of the team to manage the end to end lifecycle for all IT hardware and software within the organisation. This includes asset tracking by utilising IT database tools, conducting audits, managing the asset disposal process and collaborating with multiple teams within I&T services and across departments to ensure asset compliance is maintained in line with IT policies and procedures.
The role also includes managing software licenses and the candidate is expected to understand licensing principles, from ordering licenses, providing licensing advice and tracking licenses within the software management database.
The successful candidate will report to the Service Delivery & Change Manager and will be responsible for providing the management team with detailed reports on hardware and software asset utilisation, this includes the candidate using multiple data sources and reporting tools to present the information. It is therefore important that the candidate has excellent communication skills and an eye for detail to report anomalies and ensure that compliance is maintained for the vast number of IT assets within the Council.
The candidate will also be required to supervise and guide junior members of staff by championing the asset management processes and lead on continual service improvement.
The post is hands-on and will require the successful applicant to attend site up to 3 days a week on a rota-based system with other team members. The role will also require manual handling of IT equipment and on occasion may also require out of hours working.
About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
1. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or substantial IT Asset Management experience
2. An understanding of IT asset management principals and processes including data security
3. Experience of working in a large IT environment
4. Good analytical/problem solving skills
5. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office in particular Excel
6. Excellent communication and customer service skills
7. Use your own initiative and take a lead continual service improvement
