The Opportunity
Stockford Recruitment are working with a growing UK organisation seeking a hands-on Hardware Technician to support the build, installation and deployment of physical equipment used within operational environments.
This is a practical and varied role combining workshop-based assembly with field installations at customer locations across the UK. You will be based full-time at a Milton Keynes facility, working closely with internal technical teams, while also travelling to client sites to install, configure and support deployed equipment.
The role suits someone who enjoys working with tools, is comfortable working independently, and can represent a business professionally when on customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble, build and test hardware equipment within the workshop
* Install and deploy systems at customer locations across the UK
* Support installations independently or alongside another technician
* Ensure installations are safe, secure and meet required specifications
* Apply safe working practices when working with powered equipment and mounted systems
* Diagnose and resolve hardware or installation issues in the field
* Maintain installation documentation and provide feedback on equipment performance
* Represent the organisation professionally when on site
* Carry out basic electronic work including low-voltage systems
* Assist with power management and safe equipment connection
* Conduct component testing and troubleshooting
* Support fault-finding on deployed equipment in live environments
What We’re Looking For
* Experience installing or deploying hardware/equipment in real-world environments
* Familiarity with physical installations (equipment mounting, cabling or powered systems)
* Basic understanding of electrical safety and compliance
* Comfortable working with tools, power sources and installations
* Confident travelling to customer locations
* Full UK driving licence (essential)
* Able to work independently when required
* Positive, reliable and professional attitude
Nice to Have
* Experience in field installations or customer-facing technical roles
* Knowledge of structured cabling or outdoor installations
* Working at Height certification
* Health & Safety certifications (CSCS, IPAF, PASMA or similar)
* Experience troubleshooting hardware in live environments
