Analyst – Attribution & Marketing Analysis

The purpose of this role is to deliver detailed analysis of commercial performance, particularly in relation to marketing attribution and testing. This includes collaboration with the commercial team managers to construct well structured ‘test and learn’ activities.
This information is critical to understanding the performance of our marketing activities and to making timely decisions in order to improve marketing effectiveness. It will also form a key input to understanding customer behaviour.
The marketing mix, in terms of frequency, channels and spend will evolve over time and this role will ensure that in depth analysis of performance is appropriate, evolves with the mix and is robust and accurate.
This role will also be able to pick up and answer more complex ad-hoc commercial questions from across the wider team.
Responsibilities:
•Work alongside Reporting Analyst to maintain and improve marketing & BD regular reporting and KPIs.
•Develop, maintain, and own the marketing attribution methodology that underpins campaign performance measurement. Own the various components of the model (e.g. in Google Analytics).
•Understand how marketing mix will affect demand and help commercial/marketing managers forecast operational impact.
•Build forecasting models where needed.
•Build an understanding of how frequency and timing of outbound activity is affecting response and conversion.
•Build a detailed knowledge of the existing data real estate.
•Work with relevant business leads to define new data structures / items to better support understanding of performance and customer behaviour.
Qualifications:
•Highly numerate, degree level
•Thorough understanding of the marketing life cycle with experience working in a marketing team or agency.
•Direct marketing experience (both e-mail and paper DM preferred)
•Experience of building marketing attribution models (preferably in Google Analytics).
•Experience of test design (online and offline)
•Excel expert
•Good working knowledge of Power BI (or reporting/visualization tools e.g. Cognos, Tableaux)
•SQL
•Google Analytics – good working knowledge especially of attribution and conversion funnels in GA4
•Analytics toolkits (e.g. Python, R, SAS)
