We're looking for someone with a gift for helping everyone to feel welcome to join us as a Welcome Manager at Dyffryn Gardens, leading our small but vital welcome team, and leading for fundraising across the property. Dyffryn Gardens is a peaceful oasis on the outskirts of Cardiff, welcoming over 140,000 visitors a year, with year-round seasonal highlights across the 55 acre, Grade I listed gardens. We're a friendly team and we're ambitious too, with ongoing conservation projects, both indoors and out.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the team of welcome and service assistants and volunteers.
* Ensure day‑to‑day operations run smoothly in the welcome area.
* Inspire and care for the team, encouraging high standards of service and growth of charitable income.
* Support fundraising across the property, meeting targets and maximizing income from membership recruitment, donations, and the Second‑hand Bookshop.
* Inspire other teams to support fundraising aims.
* Support continual improvement of the visitor journey, responding to feedback to ensure optimal visitor experience.
* Act as duty manager for the whole site on a rota basis, serving as main point of contact for staff, volunteers, and visitors in emergencies.
Qualifications
* Experienced in visitor services, tourism, heritage or similar situations.
* Curious about people, motivated to provide high standards of service.
* Highly organised.
* Confident leader.
* Adept at managing financial performance.
* Able to adapt and respond under pressure.
