Charity Jobs NI (part of the Happy Jobs group) is partnering with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful to recruit a proactive, organized, and dedicated Local Environmental Quality Coordinator for their LEQ team. About Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful: A charity focused on enhancing the environment and communities through initiatives promoting sustainable living and environmental quality.
About the Role: You will coordinate and manage environmental quality and certification programs within the LEQ department, working closely with the Local Environmental Quality Manager to ensure effective delivery, stakeholder engagement, and supervision of departmental officers.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Coordination: Manage resources, including field officers, to deliver program outputs within budget and deadlines.
2. Project Management: Lead planning, implementation, and reporting of environmental initiatives.
3. Surveying and Certifications: Coordinate programs like Blue Flag, Green Flag, and conduct cleanliness surveys across boroughs.
4. Community Engagement: Promote community participation in sustainability initiatives and expand geographical coverage.
5. Communications: Serve as the primary contact, respond to technical inquiries, represent the charity at events, and create content for platforms.
6. Research Support: Assist in research and policy analysis related to environmental sustainability.
7. Authority and Decision-making: Manage stakeholder communications and support marketing initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential: Relevant third-level qualification or 3 years' experience, including 1 year in surveying/auditing, 2 years in program delivery, and 1 year supervising staff.
Desirable: Experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, voluntary sector, or local government roles.
Skills: Strong ICT skills (Microsoft Office).
Licence: Full driving licence and access to transport.
Knowledge & Understanding: Essential environmental issues; desirable behavior change principles.
Personal Qualities: Effective independent and team worker, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements: Occasional travel, flexible hours, core hours 10am-4pm, hybrid work (2 days in Belfast).
Salary: £30,328. Contract: Permanent, subject to funding. Funded by DAERA Environment Fund.
