Who we are: Established in 2013, Weybourne is the family office for a single ultra-high net worth family. Weybourne Group is the holding company of the main operating business and manages a diverse range of other investments and provides financial and other professional support services to the family, their estates and wider business interests. The business interests cover a wide range of sectors, including farming, aviation, property, music and several others. The Assistant Accountant will work with the Finance Manager, Financial Controller, and the rest of the Family Finance team to support the Family’s private businesses, charities, and personal finance. Requirements Main Duties/Responsibilities: Preparing and posting monthly accounting entries, including prepayments & accruals. Ensuring the integrity of the financial numbers including preparing balance sheet reconciliations and other month end schedules. Preparing accounts analysis to support VAT and Corporation tax returns. Preparing management accounts in accordance with agreed policies and procedures including commentary and analysis for the Transport LLPs and certain smaller entities. Preparing the statutory financial statements for Transport LLPs, certain smaller entities and assisting with external audit processes as required. Support the preparation of budget and cashflow forecast information as required. Support the Finance Manager and Financial Controller with other ad hoc tasks as required. Additional responsibilities: Develop and maintain positive working relationships across the company and other family office entities. Commitment to developing yourself within your role; undergoing training where necessary. Proactively promoting and maintaining high standards of work – taking initiative to resolve and/or draw attention to areas that don’t meet required standards or any issues that arise. Conducting yourself in line with the Weybourne Values. Any other ad hoc duties. Person specification / Core Competencies: AAT qualified, with a desire to continue professional qualifications. Previous experience in a role as an assistant accountant, or similar position (involving most of the key tasks listed above). Computer literate, with excellent skills in Excel and experience with accounting systems. Commitment to meeting demanding reporting deadlines. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills. Confident communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from a range of backgrounds. Willing and able to take responsibility and ownership for tasks. Ability to work autonomously when required, whilst still possessing strong teamwork skills. Strong sense of discretion, appreciating the confidentiality of the work.
